Warrenpoint’s Cruise Season Closes with Le Lapérouse’s Third Visit

The cruise ship Le Lapérouse berthed at Warrenpoint Harbour on Saturday 26th September, marking its third visit to the town this year and bringing the curtain down on the 2026 cruise season.

Warrenpoint Port welcomed four flagship vessels over the summer months, accounting for six cruise calls in total. Across the season, more than 1,000 passengers stepped ashore in the town.

The visits give passengers the chance to explore Warrenpoint and the surrounding area, taking in the Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Lough before continuing their voyages. For local businesses, each call brings an influx of visitors keen to spend time in the town’s shops, cafes and restaurants.

The season’s conclusion caps a period that has seen Warrenpoint firmly established on the cruise circuit, with the harbour proving capable of accommodating some of the larger vessels that now call in regularly. The steady increase in visits reflects growing recognition of the town as a stop-off point for those touring the north-west coast of Ireland.

With four ships and six calls delivered this year, attention will now turn to what the coming season might bring for Warrenpoint’s harbour and the wider town.
