Warrenpoint Art Group Exhibition Opens at Newry Library
Warrenpoint Art Group is currently displaying its latest exhibition at Newry Library, with the show running until 5th September. The collection brings together work from ten artists connected to the Warrenpoint-based group.
An Artist Meet & Greet will be held at the library on Saturday 22nd August at 3pm, offering visitors the chance to speak with some of the artists and view the pieces on show in person.
The exhibition features work from Sanda Baretic, Colette Gabriel, Catherine Irwin, Aoife Kidirov, Pauline McPolin, Sheila Mitchell, Patricia Moore, Susan O’Keefe, Sarah O’Prey and Una Rooney. A number of members have produced new pieces specifically for this exhibition, so the display includes fresh work alongside pieces from existing collections.
Warrenpoint Art Group was formed in September 2019 by a group of local artists who wanted to create a supportive space for creative development in the town. Since then it has grown into a community welcoming members of all skill levels and creative backgrounds, offering meetings, workshops and exhibitions built around encouragement and shared learning.
Over the past six years the group has shown work at a number of Warrenpoint venues, including Warrenpoint Library, Church Lane Coffee Shop, the Bandstand in Warrenpoint Municipal Park and the Pavilion. The Newry Library exhibition marks a further step for the group, extending its reach beyond Warrenpoint and giving its members a new audience for their work.
Members of the public are welcome to visit the exhibition during library opening hours before it closes on 5th September.
