Massive crowds turn out for Wake the Giant in Warrenpoint

Warrenpoint had giants on its mind this past weekend as Wake the Giant made its return, drawing thousands of visitors into the town on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August.

The festival is built around folklore, creativity and larger than life storytelling, and this year it launched something new: a Giant’s Trail, marking the opening event in a wider programme of Giant Adventures across the town.

For two days Warrenpoint was given over to giant-sized fun, with crowds filling the streets and seafront to take part in the celebrations. It is exactly the kind of weekend that puts the town on the map for families looking for a good day out, and a welcome boost for the cafes, shops and pubs that keep Warrenpoint ticking.
