Eat Out to Help Out open for business registration
Last week, the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, announced the “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme to encourage the public to get restaurants and coffee shops bustling again. The scheme, which will run throughout August, offers diners a 50% discount on food and non-alcoholic drink up to a maximum of £10 per person.
The Eat Out to Help Out scheme applies to food and drink purchased for immediate consumption on site – so take-away only businesses cannot avail of the scheme.
Businesses wishing to participate, can register with the scheme from today and diners can then avail of the discount for meals eaten in these businesses Mondays-Wednesdays throughout August. There is no limit to how many times customers can avail of the discount and no minimum spend requirement.
With Warrenpoint having so many eating establishments, the scheme will no doubt be in broad use in the town. We’ll update the directory with details of businesses using the scheme as we hear of them.
