Warrenpoint Port to Host Tall Ship
The Tall Ship – Grace O’Malley – will be sailing up Carlingford Lough and docking in Warrenpoint at midday on Friday 12th August.
The Grace O’Malley is a 164ft long schooner purchased in Sweden last month by the Atlantic Youth Trust Charity (currently known as the Lady Ellen, if vessel tracking), to introduce young people across the island of Ireland to a possible maritime career. Warrenpoint Port is delighted to bring it to the local community and to build on the excitement and interest created from the recent cruise ship visits.
It will sail up Carlingford Lough on Friday 12th August and is expected to dock at the Town Dock Marina at approximately 12.30 pm (subject to change). Over the course of the weekend, the ship will be open, free of charge (docked) to walk around and experience life on board. You can access the ship from the Town Dock Marina closest to the Vecchia Roma restaurant just off the Square in Warrenpoint.
